Okay all of you die-hard scrappers I need some advice. I have been thinking about starting a scrapbook. GASP!! I know-I do not scrapbook & I have never started. I have always said that I am not that craftsy & it doesn't seem like I have any time to do it either. How you all do it, especially when you SAH with all of your kids-amazes me.
I would like to do one for my dd who is almost 6 & one for my ds who is 2. Where should I start? Where is the best place for me to get supplies? I know our Wal-Mart has them here. We also have a Hobby Lobby & a Michaels. Do they have a starter set that you can do? I don't want to spend a lot of money & then not stick with it. Any suggestions ladies would be greatly appreciated! TIA!!!!

I do believe walmart has some starter sets, but I prefer to shop at Hobby Lobby.

You need an album. I would suggest a 12x12. I thought it'd be hard to start with a bigger one but those pages are actually easier than the small ones. I would probably buy a multipack of solid color cardstock. Patterned paper you can buy by the sheet or in a book. Personally, I didn't really like the book b/c I didn't use alot of it. Join some of the swaps on here for basic supplies like ribbon and brads/eyelets so you can see what you like and if you'd use it. I printed off a bunch of sketches from splitcoaststampers.com for a reference guide. I like rubber stamping. If you want to try that, see if you can borrow from a friend and then if you like it, I would suggest finding a Stampin' Up consultant. (Ember's one). Try our trade boards, too. You may not have anything to trade much but most of us are willing to trade for gift cards or paypal and it will come out much less costly than buying all your supplies brand new.

I hope I helped and didn't overwhelm you. I was trying to think of everything.

Stacey, check Hobby Lobby's site WEEKLY on Sunday night. They usually always have scrapbooking supplies on sale...and most weeks they have a printable 40% off coupon so that you can get 40% off any one regular priced item...and you can use one coupon per day.
