Thank you ladies for all of your advice! I did buy a scrapbooking magazine to look at & get some idea of where to start and stuff. I will be looking at the starter kits also. I will be putting a little bird into my mother's here about how I am interested & she may get me some stuff. Thank you again!

I would say you have got some great advice. I would just buy a paper trimmer, some adhesive, and cardstock papers that fit the size album you choose to do. I bought lots of my supplies from Walmart when starting out. I always check Big Lots for great deals on embellishments. You will really LOVE scrapbooking once you start. It really doesnt have to cost you too much if you dont have to buy all the expensive tools.

Do you have a JoAnn's near you? They have a ton of $1 items and stuff is ALWAYS going on clearance. I just got a big box of alphabet and number stamps for 2.97. Right now they have their loose sheet paper for 16 cents a sheet.

Big Lots is a great place to get albums. They are usually about $8 a piece for the same albums they sell at Target. For photos, wait for sales where you can get prints for 12 or 13 cents each.

Scrapbooking can be really expensive, but like Ember said, look for sales and use cupons for the really big stuff. Sometimes, I will figure out a few pages that I want to do, and then I will do my shopping so that I have an idea for what I'll need for those pages. You really use a lot of the same stuff over and over.

You might also want to check out local craft or scrapbooking stores to see if they ever do crops. Sometimes it costs a lot to go, but since you can use all their tools, and you can see what everyone else is doing, it can give you a good idea of what you want to have for yourself.

Good luck! It's addictive!

-Lucky

Stacey--I am like you just starting out and I do go overboard sometimes, I went to Micheals for the first time too about a month ago--I was in heaven, I got alot of stuff I need to work on, I get alot at Big Lots, and watch for Hobby Lobby to have the stuff 1/2 off! I want to know about the Sizzet? is that how its spelled, and the cricut machines what all they do and if they are worth the money, I found a JoAnns in Texas and got some good stuff, the sight barginpack.com that I was told about had some good buys and the shipping is very reasonable too.
