I just got my Cricut last week. It is awesome. It came with one cartridge that has one font and some basic shapes. You can make the cut outs range in size from 1 in - 5 1/2 inches.
I also bought the "New Arrival" cartridge and the "Boxes and Tags" cartridge. I am doing a baby shower for my sil in Nov and plan on using the New Arrival for the invites. It has so many cute little baby cut outs. Then I am using the other cartridge to make some little boxes to fill with candy for the party favors.
I am all ready addicted. I need to get me a table to put upstairs to keep it out all the time. I haven't made cards for a while because when I get the stuff out it stays on my kitchen table for a couple weeks and we don't eat at the table. I need to start cards again to use my Cricut all the time.
My Cricut was my Christmas present, but I got it early.

I have a question for those of you with the sets that make the little boxes. So how much would it cost to make each box and how big are they? Thanks!!

The biggest setting is 5 1/2 inches. There are differnt kinds of boxes and little purses and giftbags. You have to cut your paper to 6 x 12 to fit into a the Cricut. So with a 12 x12 piece of cardstock, cut in half you will only get 2 boxes.
I am using them for party favors for a shower. They would be cute at weddings too. Or a fancy way to wrap a gift card for someone.

I am going to a weekend crop this weekend and I hope they have a Cricut available as I've always wanted to try it. Not sure I'd want to buy one as the only times I scrapbook are at weekend get-a-ways.

(Off topic- but austing I had a HUGE laugh when I read the saying under baby's development - so true about your baby having more brain cells than Paris and Nicky put together)

I love my cricut too. I emailed the company to find out why there is a spot to hook the computer up to it (a usb plug I think it is called) They said that they planned possible future features with the cricut. So, that means (I hope) that it will soon be able to hook up to the computer and be able to do more things like different fonts, and connecting letters together and such. This is just what I think they mean by future possibilities so if it doesn't happen don't hate me but it would be really cool if it turns out to be that way!
