When do you scrapbook? I'm having such a hard time finding time. By the time I get up, dressed, kids out the door, and work and then pick up at night I just don't have the time to do. When do you fit it into your schedule?

I usually do it in the evening after the boys are in bed. Where do you keep your stuff? Do you keep it accessible or all put away? I keep a 4 ft folding table and a cabinet in my family room so I can get to my stuff. I used to keep it put away but found it was just too much of a bother to drag it all out. My husband is really good about letting me get a good chunk of time to scrap every now and then, too.

i scrap at night when everyone is sleeping or on the weekends when dh is watching football. He can keep the kids occupied. Sometimes, when I am feeling really brave, I set the kids up with their own crafts and i craft nearby.

I make time!!! Thats the biggest excuse people make for not scrapbooking... is that they dont have the time.

I do have one "advantage" that I dont have a car! We are a one car family.. so when dh is at work. We are stuck at home. But.. I have to deal with 3 kids and a part time job from home. So I do stay busy. But I try to scrap a page in the morning while the kids are eating breakfast and playing. And then during nap time I can usually scrap a little.. then at night.

I also make a point to have a crop once a month from 6pm to midnight and I can usually crank out some pages then. A retreat once or twice a year.. I can get 30+ pages done then. You just have to MAKE time.

My girls love playing games on the computer.. and the computer is in my scrap room.. so I usually let them play while I scrap too.

I agree with Ember!! You definitely HAVE TO MAKE TIME!!! I think it has to be something that you are passionate about and LOVE to do. I have found since joining this forum group that I am more encouraged and inspired to scrapbook often. I have my supplies easily assesible in my guest room where I can leave stuff up if I need to which helps.

lately I have been staying up late to get a few cards or pages in. Otherwise the kids playroom in in the same room as my scrapbook corner so they play with their toys and I will stop and play with them for 5-10 minutes and then go back to scrappin. It is what I am passionate about so I make sure that I get it in sometime throughout the day.

Someone said to me once,"You make time for the things you love" I have just recently started making more time. The trick for me is to keep my stuff out. My extra room looks like a tornado just blew through but I'm getting a lot more pages done. I pick out a couple of pictures and decide on some paper, come back an hour or two later, and do a little more. I do this on and off all day and by the end of the day I have at least one page done, sometimes two. mommysavers has helped me in the motivational area.

Hope this helps!

I agree, I make time to do it. I go away for the weekend twice a year and my sister and I have a standing date, the second Friday of the month. One time at her house and the next at my house, sometimes other friends will join us too. Also, when dh is traveling for business, I'll pull it out and take over the kitchen table, the kids and I'll eat at the counter with bar stools. I get the most done when it's left out for a few days (I'm not lucky enough to have my own room, I'm so jealous of that!!)

We just recently moved and one thing I was lucky enough to get was my own room. I am still organizing it and have a long way to go but find that now that I can leave my stuff out and not worry about it taking up to much room or the kids getting into it I can get a lot more done. I also find that if I set aside special time and mark it in my calendar then I usually hold myself to scrapping at that time and getting my ME time in. KWIM
