But what is the best album to put them in. Do I put each page in a sheet protector? Do people still use the plastic sheet covers? I use either post or strap hinge albums that you can get at Walmart reasonably. I use the sheet protectors that come with the post album and buy ones for the strap album because I feel it protects my photos from hand prints, especially if you have small children.
What is the best paper to use for the base of the pages? Do I mount everything on cardstock to have a thicker pages and layer with print paper? I use cardstock for my base or the paper that comes in the album when you buy it. I will then mat or embellish a page with other paper like patterned paper that is thinner.
Are you making your scrapbooks for YOU or for your kids? Do you make 2 of everything to keep one for yourself and one for your kids books? I actually have TONS of albums. I separate my husbands family photos into an album, my family (relatives) pictures, one for my immediate family. I do get duplicate photos and made both my kids baby books up until school age. I then have started saving the photos so they could make their own scrapbooks. I thought it would give my daughter and me something that we could do together (a little bonding).
I am having my 3rd girl. So what if my layouts and paper are the same but just use pictures of a different kid. I dont think there is a problem with using the same layouts. I think the important thing is documenting those memories and doing lots of journaling so your children will have AWESOME and wonderful books to look at and remember when they are older.
I hope this helped you a little. HAPPY Scrapbooking. One word of caution: WATCH OUT it is highly addictive!!!!!!!!!!
