I'm learning with everyone on this one. It was the first time I'd attempted it. Thanks to SCS for their tutorial. Just an FYI, I know I bleached my bg but I won't do that again b/c the bleach went through the paper in a couple of spots.

1. You need: bleach, a small container for bleach, paintbrush, cardstock, an image stamp, versamark, embossing powder, embossing buddy (optional), powder pal tray (optional - you can use a paper plate), and a heat gun (not pictured).

2. Rub embossing buddy over entire piece of cs, then stamp your image in versamark.

3. Pour embossing powder over your stamped image. I used white since I was stamping on black sc. Pour excess powder back into container.

4. Heat embossing powder with your heat tool until image turns shiny.

5. "Paint" the part of your stamped image you want to bleach with the paintbrush & bleach. Let air dry or speed up the process by heating with your heat tool.

6. Finish your card.

In hindsight, I probably will not use black cs for this particular technique again.

That is really cool! I love the bleached look I am just afraid that I am going to make some kind of a huge mess!

I love this idea and but I have never heard of it. I also love the card and red and black are my favorite color combos!!!

Two questions?

One, what does bg stand for in the first post? "I bleached my bg but I won't do that again b/c the bleach went through the paper in a couple of spots"

Two, this may sound stupid, Is it the hearts on the card that are bleached? If so, how does the bleach "take away" the embossing on the hearts? If not, what did you bleach?

Inquiring mind NEED to know!

bg = background

The bleach did not take away the embossing; it bleached the paper. The hearts were used kind of like an outline, KWIM?
