This is a way to make your own metal embellishments. You can turn just about any stamped image into faux metal. Here, I used a leaf stamp.

You will need a stamp, metallic embossing powder, versamark, cardstock, a powder pal or something to catch the loose embossing powder, embossing buddy (optional), and a heat tool (which I always forget to include in the picture).

Stamp versamark over the entire piece of cardstock. I tapped the pad onto the cardstock. Also, cover your stamp w/versamark at this point and set it aside.

Pour the metallic embossing powder over the cardstock. Tap the back to make the excess fall off. Then, heat emboss. This step needs repeated AT LEAST FOUR TIMES. Pour more embossing powder onto the cs while the previous layer is still hot.

After you've completed embossing on your cs, QUICKLY press your stamp into the hot embossing powder. I blasted heat onto each small area to do more than one leaf.

You will have images stamped INTO the embossed cs.

Depending on the image you chose, you can leave it as is or you can cut around the image. I chose to cut my leaves out and use them alone.

This is the card I embellished w/my faux metal leaves. Please excuse the crooked sentiment; I'm getting a stamp-a-ma-jig at my friend's SU workshop in a couple weeks.

Thanks, Stacey! I thought I'd do this one since so many ppl said they had to go buy some metal for the crop challenge.

Versamark is the name of a watermark stamp pad. It stamps the image on almost clear. You can leave the image as is and let it dry or you can emboss over it. I think just about any craft store (HL, Mike's, Joann's) sell it.
