I noticed a embellished paper clip swap and I have seen pictures of these before, but what do you use them for? They are very cute, but I can't figure out their purpose? Maybe my brain is just too uber-practical? I hope no one thinks I am putting it down, I just really want to know!

I'm exactly the opposite. I LOVE them. I haven't done the swap because I'm the most uncrafty person that's ever lived, but I'd love to have them, even if I didn't use them. I think they're soooo cute. But then maybe that's why I have so much clutter

I don't have any ~ but I have seen them used for the following...

~Same as a regular paper clip just pretty (like Noahsmommy said)
~Attaching to money, gift card or check (like in a bday card) for extra "ooomph"
~Embellishing other things (cards, pages, crafts, etc...)
~Bookmarks (larger clips)
~My friend tied a few packets of seeds together for a neighbor & placed one on the ribbon

...... That's all I can think of right now
