If I were to go to Joann's or Micheal's to buy some scrapping stuff what would I get? I have one baby kit but it seems to be lacking in fun stuff. So basicly I have nothing.
When I mat my pictures do I use the scrapbook paper or do I use construction paper? How much is a jornaling pen? What kind of buttons or other fun stuff do I get? Or should I just see if I can buy some huge package thing off ebay for 100 bucks or so?
Thanks so much for your help. Have a great day,

I would get a paper trimmer, glue stick and a tape runner. a package of different colored cardstock, You can mat pictures on card stock or scrap paper,
some baby embelishments,
some letter stickers, or chip board, or even letter stamps and some ink pads.
don't go crazy yet, start with some basics first.

I don't really want to go crazy yet....but I just want to have some stuff so if I get an urge or get some awesome pics I can do something with them before I forget what my thought was. I have that mommy forgetful thing going on and I can't even remember what I wanted to say now lol.

I think they suggested some good things. Joanns has a fun little package that is odds and ends things in it for like 19.99. That would give you some brads and misc items to work with. Then the multi color cardstock is a good idea too for matting. Definately a trimmer and glue stick or tape runner.

dollar tree has some good stuff too. They even have paper trimmers. You could get a good selection to start you off there.

Elizabeth you have been given some great advice. Cardstock is a MUST for the matting of your photos. Joanns has a good dollar section of stickers, brads, flowers, and all kinds of embellishments. Good luck and have fun shopping!!

I'd forgotten about Jo's $1 section! Michael's has a good $1 selection as well. They have a whole series of stamps that change about every 6 weeks or so that are only $1 plus various embellishments and they always have a huge bin of $1 rolls of ribbons. Big Lots is a good place, too; I've been able to find huge packs of cardstock there for a $1. Mine always has a ton of ribbon for a $1 as well.

Everyone gave you great suggestions. I literally started with some plain cardstock, a few patterned papers, a gluestick, and a trimmer. Now I've got too much stuff... it is addicting, so beware!

Do you have any friends who scrap? I shop from my friends. A lot of times they have things they won't use or don't like anymore, and I reap the benefits. Either we trade or I buy things from them cheap. This works both ways - I have a little boy, so all my pink gets passed on.
