Those cute little buttons that people use in their scrapbooks, the ones that come in different shapes like flowers and birthday cakes, etc.? Or are they just "scrapbook buttons"??? .

I am pretty sure that the have a flat back on them. No thread loop deal, right?

I'm actually not sure of the answer. My buttons are just buttons. They sell decorative buttons on the button rack at Wal-Mart with the holes in them now though.

They could also be brads. THey have a fastener on the back like on a manila envelope.

I have a button shank remover. That's what those loops on the back are called. I buy most of my buttons at JoAnn's and the shank remover is right beside them. HTH

I was about to say the same thing. I use a pair of needle nose or jewelry pliers.

Ok, I just found a whole bunch on ebay!
You guys are AWESOME!! Thanks for all of your help!

And as far as those pesky shanks (is that what they are called? LOL) I'll just do like you all said and either buy one of those..shank removers (? wow, I suck at this, eh?) or use pliers or something.

Thanks again!
