Mommysavers on the CBS Early Show!

One of the producers of the CBS Early Show contacted me to find a family to feature in one of their segments about saving money. Here is her request:

“We are looking for a family who is feeling the pinch of a looming recession and is making changes in their purchases and their lifestyle. We would love to profile them in a story we’re doing about the economy. It would involve a camera crew spending some time with them as they do their “everyday” activities. Ideally – a family within driving distance of one of our bureaus would be great – New York (NJ, CT); Washington (VA or MD); Chicago; Dallas; Atlanta; Los Angeles."

Of course I’d love to highlight Mommysavers as one of the ways your family gets ideas for saving and support when trying to live on a budget. If you’d like to participate, please contact me by the end of the day on Thursday, February 28th (sooner, if possible to ensure the best chance of being selected). Contact me via PM with:

This story was put on the backburner for awhile, but the producer just notified me that they'd like to go ahead with it! If you would still like to apply, please PM me ASAP! Ideally, they'd like a family from the NY/NJ/CT area - but would consider families from their other news bureaus as well.

She also added, "Maybe they cut out tons of coupons, or know the secrets to shopping the sales, or have perfected the shortest route to run their errands to save on gas. Someone who really does the math! I’m sure their strategies could help ALL our viewers save money!"
