Isn't it about time Oprah featured some Mommysavers members on her show? Are you tired of the media defining "saving money" as giving up Starbucks and doing your own manicures instead of getting them done at the salon? Let's send her producers some ideas on how REAL people are surviving (and thriving) during this recession! Mention Mommysavers - and make this a group effort!

Here's the form:

If you have trouble accessing the page, here's how to get there:

Go to the main Oprah site:
Oprah.com: Live Your Best Life

On the bottom right hand corner, there's a section that says "Be on the Show". Click the + button to see all the categories. There is a category called "Money" on the left hand side. The Recession category is the second one down. HTH

Done!
I just saw on the CBS morning show "affordable" back-to-school clothes. There was a 6 year old wearing a $60 skirt! That's how the media defines affordable? Maybe Suri Cruise thinks that is cheap, but even I haven't spent $60 on a skirt in a LONG time...and I'm an adult. I stay the same size (sort of) and I don't play in the dirt.
Rant over.

I agree. You have to remember that mainstream media producers, writers, etc. are often not of the frugal mindset to begin with. Lots of them live in NYC where the cost of living is so much higher in general. That's why I think our members would have so much information to offer! I sent in my tips too. Thanks!

That's crazy! $60 would be 1/2 of our back-to-school budget!!

I still see it.

Go to the main Oprah site:
Oprah.com: Live Your Best Life

On the bottom right hand corner, there's a section that says "Be on the Show". Click the + button (Oprah Winfrey Show) to see all the categories. (or, try this link: Plug List) There is a category called "Money" on the left hand side. The Recession category is the second one down. HTH

$60 was what I spent on my 2 boys for school supplies, 2 outfits and 3 pairs of tennis shoes ($3 & $4 each on Target's clearance)!

The link is still there and now there is another category calling all moms to talk about their own personal stories on any topic, so we could fill in there too. It is under the Parenting tab. We need to fill Oprah up with email and show TV Producers how the real world lives!!!
