My kids usually have some fruit with a glass of milk, or they'll have cookies and milk, or I'll fix them a huge plate of Nachos with beans and oinions, tomatoes, olives, cheese, lettuce and some salsa. THat's always a hit. When we have the neighbors kids over, ,they usually scope out the kitchen before they ask for something. It's usually a fruit that they ask for and we always have plenty of fruit around. Sometimes I wish I had an apple, pear and orange tree out back.

Um, well yes...there are all different types of snacks! LMAO! I wanted to know what specifically you were referring to, since in your first post you just said 'snacks'. And for me, that word runs the gamut of options (sweet, salty, crunchy etc) - hence where I asked for clarification.

I don't have an issue with other kids. As I said, I don't buy chips, packaged cookies etc We just don't like them enough to eat them, so it's a waste for me. When the kids have friends over, I offer up what we have here at this house - fruit, veggies, yogurt, popcorn, cheese/crackers, quesadilla, sandwiches etc I also do fairly often have homemade cake, brownies, muffins, cookies etc Just depends on the week. I haven't had to deal with guests wanting something different...I guess if that were happening, I would just tell the child "Sorry! This is what I have...".

It really depends on what we have on hand and what We are doing , How much time we have , etc.

alot of times I serve my kids and their friends -
cheese Quesidillas - these are simple and always a HUGE hit with all.

Popcorn - I always Have microwave bags on hand.

Veggies and dip - Most kids love celery , carrots and cucumbers with A ranch dip.

Sweetend dry cereal - My kids love apple jacks or similar cereals as a quick snack.

I also do pizzas on triscuits - add sauce and mozz. cheese to triscuits and stick in the microwave for about 10 seconds.

Hot dogs with crescent rolls - One hot dog and roll makes about 5 snack size when cut up . Add toothpick and give mustard and ketchup to dip.

I try to do something little, because they will not want to eat their dinner if they aren't hungry.
They like:
*cinnamon toast
*sliced cheese sliced to cracker size and a small stack of crackers so they can make their own cheese crackers
*peanuts or sunflower seeds
*apple slices with peanut butter to dip
*last bit of cereals mixed together for trail mix
*jello jigglers
*mini marshmallows
*shredded mozz melted on top of bagel under broiler
