Im moving in about 2 weeks and we decided to invite all our friends and neighbors to come over for a pot luck party at our home. My budget is very small for food anyways, so I have no extra money for food. Since were moving, were pretty broke and I literally only have money for drinks. Any good super cheap idea's you could throw my way for finger food? Here's things that I have on hand always:

Beans of any sort
Powdered Milk
Noodles
Baking stuff (flour,sugar,etc)
Slivered Almonds
Lots of cereal
Lots of bread
lemon banana and vanilla pudding
Chicken leg quarters
Pumpkin Puree

Okay i know this isnt much but I just wanted to share what I have on hand. My goal is not to spend any money on food. I have $10 for drinks. Plus each person will bring along a food of choice.
Simple easy to do recipes is what im looking for. Some what healthy if I can help it. We dont eat chips or junk food so I cant throw some chips in a bowl and call it good like most people. It has to kid and adult friendly. It will be a whole day party. Kids in the afternoon and adults in the evening.
Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

Go to allrecipes.com. You can type in what ingredients you have and it will come up with some recipes.
Do you know how many people you are serving and perhaps what they will be bringing. With no money to buy any food on, it may be a little difficult to have a different meal for the kids and adults. I have some ideas, but you will either have to spend money on groceries or ask people to bring certain food items.

chicken quarters-cook up, shred and add bbq sauce, serve on buns
baking ingre-cookies, muffins, etc
pumpkin puree-pumpkin soup, pumpkin gooey bars
noodles-pasta bake or make your own lipton type noodles
pudding-make that for the kids for sure or use to make a baked goodie
cereal-make up trail mix, no bake bars

If it were me and I had no extra money, I would made just make some sort of dessert and invite people over for dessert and drinks (coffee, tea, etc)and that's it.

We were broke for my husband's birthday, and I threw a pot luck dinner and game night. I made a big pot of red beans and rice and a couple of pans of cornbread, and let the guests take care of the rest. Turned out great - more food than we could all eat.

I literally have no money. the money I do have is for when we move next week and I need to make food for all the helpers. Hopefully I still have that money for that reason. Cross my fingers!
Thank you for the great site, im gonna check it out right now. I think I will make it simple and just try to relax.
One thing I didnt mention was that were having 2 parties in one day. In the morning/after noon its the party for my girls and their school mates. The evening is when the neighbors are coming over. Ive had alot of kids respond so im sure they will bring stuff (made a potluck invite and asked for only healthy type snacks/drinks) so I can use whatever they dont eat for the later party. The morning party is also a birthday party so there will be cupcakes and what not. No ice cream but im hoping they wont notice with all the other food there. .... We will see.
Keep the idea's coming!!! I still need idea's!!!

One really cheap, easy and healthy dish is hummus, if you have the ingredients. You can serve it with raw veggies, if you have them, or crackers or crositni (bread cut in small, thin slices, spread with a little butter and toasted 'til crisp)

If you don't have tahini to put in the hummus, I've heard you can sub peanut butter.

Here's the link to the ehow I did on how to make hummus:
