I am soooooooo hooked on Lattes....but at 4+ dollars each....who can afford that??
So I found a recipe to share with you.

8 oz. of skim or low fat milk.....
2 tlbs. of flavored syrup(vanilla, carmel etc..)
Heat in the microwave for 2 minutes
add 1 tsp. of instant coffee

WA-LA.......a poor "womans" latte

ENJOY!

Not to be nitpicky, but a latte is actually is espresso and steamed milk. Cafe au lait is coffee and steamed milk. It's amazing how people who work in coffee shops don't even know the difference!

I drink cafe au lait every morning. I find it quick and easy but that's me. I bring some milk, just to a boil, on the stove, and pour it over coffee and that I've brewed at home. If I want it really frothy, I can froth/steam the milk on my coffeemaker or use a handheld frother that I have...quick and easy.

I'm not into flavored syrups, so I just use a little plain sugar. It just depends on what you want...
