Deep Fried Cheese Sticks

2 eggs, beaten
1/4 c water
1 1/2 c italian seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2/3 c flour
1/3 c cornstarch
1 quart oil for deep frying
1 block mozzarella cheese(cut into sticks)-we also :love: pepperjack ones!!!


3 bowls:

1:eggs and water(beaten)

2:bread crumbs and garlic salt

3:flour and cornstarch mix.

Heat the oil to 365 .

dip cheese stick in this order:
egg wash
flour
egg wash
bread crumbs

make sure they are coated WELL!!!

then fry til golden(about 30 sec to 1 min)

Yum! I love cheese sticks and will definitely be trying these. I haven't had any good ones since we moved and don't go to our favorite pool hall anymore. Can't wait to try them out!

How about cheddar cheese balls?? Would they work good for this recipe?? We had some a long time ago and I have never tried to fry any cheese.

This is a good recipe. I tried it recently and DH and I both loved 'em.
