Got this recipe from my dad, he has been making it for as long as I can remember. It is a great appetizer or if you make some egg noodles it makes a great dinner too. Dont know where the name came from or where he got the recipe in the first place.
Sauce Makes about 2 cups
3/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup chopped onions
2 tablespoons worcertshire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 drops tabasco
dash cayenne pepper
Mix all ingredients together in saucepan. Stir occasionally.
Meatballs
1 pound hamburger
3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1 1/2 teaspoon chopped onions
1/2 teaspoon horseradish
3 drops tabasco
2 eggs beaten
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper.
Mix all ingredients together in large bowl. Shape into teaspoon size balls. Brown in skillet.
Add meatballs to sauce.
You can also put the prepared sauce and meatballs in a crock pot to keep warm.
