Vanilla Popcorn

1/4 c corn oil
1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
3/4 c unpopped popcorn
1 Tbs superfine sugar
salt to taste
2 Tbs butter, melted
Heat corn oil over med-high or high heat for a minute.Test w/1 kernel-when it pops pour in the rest and the vanilla bean. Place a lid on the pot, and shake gently until the corn starts to pop. Shake til the popping stops.
Remove from the heat, and pour into a large bowl. Remove the vanilla bean from the corn. Scrape seeds from the vanilla bean, and mix with sugar. Stir sugar, salt and melted butter into the corn until evenly coated, and serve.
