I make a similar crab dip though mine is no peppers, onions, or butter and much more old bay and we use cheddar cheese and I add dijon mustard.and it goes fast. The men at dh work is requesting it again for the Christmas eve party.
We serve it with ritz or club crackers, or sliced french bread.Sometimes when there is leftover I have been known to top a steak with it and throw it back in the oven! YUMMY!!

Hot Crab Dip
1 lb special crab meat (from the seafood counter)
(2) 8 oz cream cheese brought to room temp
8 oz sour cream
4 heaping T. Mayo
garlic powder to taste (start with 1 tsp)
old bay to taste (start with 1 tsp)
dijon mustard to taste(start with 1 tsp)
8 oz shredded cheddar
1 T lemon juice (optional)
Mix all but cheese and pour into baking dish, sprinkle cheese on top and a little old bay. Bake at 350 for about 45min to an hour till bubbly. If the top starts to brown and it's not yet bubbly cover with a little foil.

Makes a pretty large portion.(I bake it in a casserole dish) I usually freeze half before I bake it.
