THIS....IS the ULTIMATE stuff!!!!

4 c milk
5 whole cloves
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
12 egg yolks
1 1/2 c sugar
2 1/2 c light rum
4 c light cream
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Combine milk, cloves, 1/2 tsp vanilla, and cinnamon in a saucepan, and heat over LOW for 5 min.Slowly bring it to a boil.

Mix egg yolks and sugar. Whisk together til fluffy. Whisk hot milk mixture slowly into the eggs(add a little to start to temper your eggs). Pour mix into saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 mins, til thick. Do NOT allow mixture to boil. Strain to remove cloves, and let cool for about an hour.
Stir in rum, cream, 2 tsp vanilla, and nutmeg. Refrigerate overnight before serving.

OKAY......BIG HINT>>>>>>>>

for some reason lots of people manage to curdle the eggs.....IF this happens..quicklynpour into a bowl that you can set into a bigger bowl filled w/ice and water and beat w/electric mixer.

another way to save...is let cool and then pour into a blender and add your rum and cream while blending........

just make SURE you add about 1/2 a cup hot mix to eggs SLOWLY while whisking...this will heat the mix w/out cooking your eggs
