I remember everyone making these at just about every party or get-together in the 80's, and I LOVED them! Only, I always thought it was weird (when I was a kid) that something that tasted so good could have grape jelly in it! huh.gif Not that I don't like grape jelly, but it just seemed odd. tongue.gif Have any of y'all had these before? If not, give 'em a try, their AWESOME!!! wink.gif
Crock pot Little Smokies
2 packages Cocktail wieners
1 Medium bottle chili sauce
1 Medium jar grape jelly
Combine in crock pot and cook on low 6 to 8 hours.

I love them!!!!
I'm making a plain version for my ds's preschool halloween party Monday..
I bought the little weenies and cut 2 Xs on the bottom and drop them into boiling water. It makes the legs curl out and they look like little spiders. I will take them in a crockpot to keep them warm. I also got catsup and mustard bottles with really tiny nozzles so that the kids can make their own faces on them.

I make them on occasion (usually for my Dad's Xmas party) but my recipe is a little different. I put the lil smokies in a crock pot, squirt ketchup all over until it looks like enough (not necessarily covering all of them) and then add 1/2 c of bourbon. Cook em. I think my cousin Randy had about 50 of them at last year's party. All I know is I made a quadruple recipe and they were GONE!

We eat them every Christmas Eve!! Tradition!! Only I just throw the smokies in the crockpot and cover them with bbq sauce.

I make these, only I don't use the chili sauce and use 1-2 Tbsp horseradish instead. They aren't too spicy that way. And are really yummy!

I was at a little office gathering the other night and one of my co-workers made them this way:
Wrap 1/2 slice of raw bacon around little smokie - poke toothpick thru to keep in place, lay them on a cookie sheet, sprinkle brown sugar over them, bake in 350* over until bacon is done. They were really good!
I like the bourbon idea too! I might have to try that this week-end.
