It is time for us to start filling care boxes for Christmas for soldiers. I am looking for donated items or items that I can trade for that might include the following:
DVDs
PS2 games
books (grisholm seems to be a favorite)
christmas novelty items
christmas cards
candy
phone cards (this one is a much requested item. especially during holidays)
socks
Christmas items that would remind them of USA
stationary
gift cards (walmart is a favorite since they can use it online)
Heat reducing items (neckbands etc)
food items such as gatorade, etc
sample packs of items
A HAND WRITTEN CHRISTMAS CARD!!!!`We will be collecting these and sending as many cards as we can in our packages. I know its early to be thinking of it, but we will be sending these by OCT 20th to insure delivery for Christmas
so if any of you are teachers, Christmas cards would be a great idea! you can email me for more info or visit our site at www.soldierassist.com
bump!!

Is it okay if I forward this list or post it somewhere else??? What got me thinking is that I belong to two online book clubs and one of them has VERY nice people who always donate to classrooms, etc. They could probably round up some of the books (like the Grisham you suggested) to send over there. Or do you want them sent directly to you?? Let me know & if it's okay I'll post your info on my book site. Thanks for doing this.

The phone cards, too...do they have to be a certain kind or new? I have one with a hundred minutes or so on it..that I have carried for over a year without needing. I would be glad to donate, if you want it?

I just posted this on my book club site and asked for donations. I'm sure some of these people will come through. And some of them are also teachers so maybe they'll ask for the cards too!! Hope that helps!!
