since having my second child I have had VERY heavy periods, well at least for me. Before my period would last about 3 to 4 days, and the last day I just have to wear a panytliner. Now they are lasting 6 days very heavy. I also have abdominal pain, which is irregular, between my navel and side but very low. Maybe twice a day but it is a sharp pain, not lasting more than 15-30 seconds. anyone have experience with this??? I hate going to the gyno but I guess it is inevitable. He isn't to bad to look at so at least that is the bright spot>

Well, i'm kinda having the same problem. My periods were usually regular - not light but not too heavy. Then we started TTC in April and now i have the worst periods ever. Very heavy, lots of clots (sorry TMI) but i don't have the sharp pains. I cramp some but not too bad. And now, my periods last anywhere from 7 days to as long as 13 days. So, i too, have to go see my gyno.

I had the same problem after my second DS was born 6 yrs ago. My Dr. put me on a low dose of birth control, and I would have a period with 1 heavy day, and pantyliners for 3 days and that was it! IT was great. Then, 3 months ago, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, and no more BC for me. So, for the past 3 months, I have had to miss 2 days of work every 3 months because I bleed so heavy and clot (Sorry TMI). I am having surgery 3 weeks from today to hopefully, take care of this so it doesn't continue. If this doesn't work, then the big H is in my future.

What is the surgery supposed to do???
