This is going to be hard to describe, but maybe somebody will know what I'm talking about.
Every month I go through changes in mood, energy, stamina. Like right now, for example I am lathargic, dreary mood, not inspired to do anything. The house gets messy, I try to clean but just seem to go in circles. It's probably pms, I'm thinking it's about that time.
Next week, (durring) I will have tons of energy, will be able to do 10 things at once will feel happy.
The other two weeks, are fair, but the energy dwindles again toward that week before. The thing is, it's not just the energy level, I get really depressed feeling that one week out of the month just before. Dreary outlook, just plain not happy. Is the normal? Is this what pms is? I just want to feel like I do on my high energy, happy weeks all the time, is it possible?

It does sound hormonal...even with the IUD in...because it puts hormones in me..I am still like that....just don't get the period part but once every three months or so! I know there are meds out there JUST for PMS....to regulate everything more...I think I need some, too!

OK, I don't know how old you are, but I am 38 - 39 in December - and I was having something similar, like really bad PMS and I had never really had these symptoms as intense as they were getting. I was(am) much more moodier, cramps were worse - you get the picture. Anyway my Dr. said I could be starting pre-menopause symptoms. I about freaked out. She said this stage can last up to 15 years!! Great, I'm thinking!! She suggested a low dose anti-depessant, but I'm not ready for that so I've been using St. JOhns Wort.
Anyway, not trying to add to your depression, but it could really be hormonal and your body is adjusting? Maybe talk with your doctor if you don't notice it getting better in a few months.
Oh, also it could be you are adjusting to your life change with your kids going to school. That can cause a mild depression too. Just a thought. Good luck!

as the self proclaimed St Johns Wort queen of this board. It will help you feel better (Im using it quite a bit lately!!)
But have you also thought to check your diet. You might need a higher amount of iron or a good viatamin B12 tablet. The thing about the B12 is it does work but its not an instant hit like the SJW you have to build it up in your system and that can take 12 weeks but its definately work taking.
and yep pre menopause systems can go on for that length of time so its worth looking for ways to cope
Big hugs I hope you feel better soon
OH and if reincarnation exists I wanna be a man for al lof the above reasons

I dont know your American Med system but here you can get seperate B6, B Complex, and B12 specific tablets.
Over here the B12 would be a higher formulation than just the BComplex if that makes sense?
My herbalist practioner told me the specific B12 undiluted so to speak has more than the Bcomplex and thats what you need to target these symptoms
hope that helps

Hi there. I have the same thing going on... Two weeks before I'm mildly down, exhausted and just generally "low". Then I'll be fine again until a few days before and the exhaustion hits again. I've recently started using this botanically based cream from Arbonne called Prolief. It's a natural balancing cream and it works wonders for me! I can give you more info on it if you'd like.

It sounds like classic PMDD, which is only lately making the media rounds. You can find some info on the web. I would talk to my Dr., if even just in a phone call. You may want to see if he wants to check your thyroid, also. Good luck!

There are vitamins that help with that. I'd start with those maybe like an Estroven PMS formula or something. I'd definately try a nutritional supplement like B vitamin complexes which the Estroven PMS formula has before trying a prescription. Supplements can bring marked relief without causing side effects or addiction. Docs usually want to dole out anit-depressants and that can complicate more than it helps sometimes.
