Girls I am very proud of you making your health a priority. Stevesgal (Jen) and I are here to support you and to offer you some tips and guidance along the way.

We will have some challenges coming up in February. So stay focused on your goals and continue coming back here.

Remember: BABY STEPS. You can lose 20 lbs in a day. It took awhile to accumulate so it's going to take awhile and some WORK to lose. Be patient but stay focused!

This is good to actually write it down...

1) Back to pre-baby weight --> lose 30 pounds.
2) Establish a healthy eat-at-home habit for the family
3) Take my vitamin every single day!
4) Exercise at min 3 days/wk
5) Get back into running -- and enter the labor day 5K (the same one I ran 2 years ago on the morning I found out I was preggers - I think it would be fitting to show I've come full circle1)

Good luck everyone!!!!

Okay, my goals are pretty simple.
1) continue to make exercise and eating right a priority
2) get down to 115 and stay there (8 pounds away at the moment)
3) try new things to keep in shape (I'm joining a gym next week with lots of fun classes - I have been exercising on my own for a year so I am looking forward to having more choices, but this will require a new level of commitment for me to actually carve the time out of my schedule and get there without any children)
4) eat cleaner and give up a lot of the sugar, diet coke, and processed food in my diet

I agree, it helps to see these in balck and white....

Becuase I cannot control my weight right now because my thyroid is not stable yet, my goals are:

1. Focus on maintining my exersize 6 days a week.
2. Continue to eat healthy and cut out some carbs.
3. Complete my 2 half marathons and have a better time than last year.
4. Run my 2 5ks faster.
4. Spend more time with my ds doing the things he likes to do.
5. Enjoy life...Now that my divorce is behind me, I need to focus on me and my ds.

I have the EXACT same goals as you EXCEPT #4.... run the 5k! I know what you mean about #3 especially. DH loves his junk food!

My goals are

#1. Lose 25 pounds and keep it off!
#2. Start exercising to burn fat.
#3. Start lifting some weights to build some muscle...I'm turning into mush at 41 yr old!
#4. Eat more fruit and veggies.
#5. I want to be more active and have more fun, especially doing things with my dh and kids (teenagers) so they will be more healthy.

My goals are to continue to cut out foods high in sodium and packaged foods (most of which are high in sodium!).

Also, to look at labels more often, because it's amazing what you learn when you see those numbers!

So far, without really changing too much my husband and I have both lost about 14 lbs. He didn't even know I had changed anything until he went to the dr and found out he lost weight. Then I explain how we were eating differently.

If you don't buy it, you can't eat it.
