I know what you mean about not needing to be skinny. I've tried to make my goal reasonable to. I started with a BMI of 26.6 (overweight) and am working towards a BMI of 23.9. I'd like to be lower but I want to aim for a goal that is reasonable for my body and genetics.
Thanks!! It helps when I'm running to think about you guys and you are working hard, too.

I haven't calculated my BMI. I have a lead bottom so I get frustrated with anything that cannot accurately measure my muscle. I'm very happy with how my legs & bottom have toned up with running. I'm starting to think that being a certain weight is not going to make me happy. I'm just going to continue to chug along and take what I get.

You will be here (Week 9) before you know it. In my opinion, the hardest part was where you are right now. Once I got over that hump, I was able to add on the minutes easier.

You are all doing GREAT!!!! It does take time to build up your endurance to run a 5K and you ladies are doing great at building that up! I'm working on maintaining 4 miles consistently -- I try to keep pushing myself a little harder each run.

This week I finished week 4 and will be starting week 5 tomorrow. Week 5 really looks scary!

Linda - Congrats on making it to week 9! That is a huge accomplishment!

People keep telling me that week 5 & 6 are the hardest. I'm even hearing from my facebook friends who I didn't even know had participated. They say it gets easier after week 8. I hope so. I'm on week 6 and it's hard going but I feel the changes in my body so that's good.

Linda - week 9 - That's fantastic!

I just finished week 2 about an hr ago! I feel good. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to finish this week with a sick baby. But she is all better and happy. So I got to run and I start week 3 tomorrow. I'm trying not to look ahead on the weeks but you guys are freaking me out J/K

You guys are a big help. When I feel like I don't want to run anymore I think of all of you guys that are doing it too. It helps me get out the door and keep moving.
Thank you guys so much... I'm loving this so far

This morning I just finished week 6, day 3 and ran for 25 min straight. I was the most difficult yet! I just looked at week 7. I have to run 25 min straight three days this week.

For those of you following the Couch to 5K plan (not for those who have been running for a while) when on the treadmill, what speed are you going. I try to go at 5.0 but sometimes have to bring it down to 4.8 if I'm gasping for breath. I will try and increase more each time but according to my calculations by week 8, I should be doing 3 miles in 30 min which is a speed of 6.0. Yipes.

When I started running 25 minutes, I slowed down to 4.5. I don't care how fast I'm going right now. It is comfortable for me. I plan to speed it up later. Be easy on yourself, you are not training for the olympics !!

PS... AWESOME JOB!!!!!!!!!
