"I've been so tired for so long. I feel like for 3 years, I've been a hamster running in a wheel. Around and around, working up a sweat, only to finish standing in the same spot I started....It's not just about having a clean home. It's about not being tied down to things. We take nothing with us when we die. So why do we consume ourselves with collecting it while we're alive?....all the junk we don't need that is holding us back; holding us back from further enjoying the simple blessings we have in our lives..." [Excerpt from Day 1, Entry 1]

I have decided to embrace the new beginnings of Spring and create for myself and my family a New Dawn, a New Day, a New Life... It's more than just cleaning my home; I'm cleaning our lives and simplifying them so we can focus on the Lord and what He has given to us. His simple promises and blessings have overflowed our cup, but all I can see is the immense amount of junk floating on the surface. I want to go back; back to when I was at seminary and lived powered by the presence of God. I don't want distraction from Him any longer. No more excuses, no more distractions. I'm opening myself and my home to His pruning hand. May I become a better woman, wife and mommy as I travel down the road, through the valleys and over the mountaintops, to a place where God has stripped me bare of everything and made me completely dependent on Him.

Great idea. I am doing a similar thing. I am trying to keep negative energy at bay, all of it, TV shows, music, unhealthy relationships. Instead, focusing on the positive things in my life, praying more often and with an open heart, reaching out others all around me. Funny thing, when I was little I wanted to be a Nun or a teacher. Now, after making a career change, I am a FT SAHM and FT graduate student studying to be a Special Ed teacher. However, I want the longing for the Lord I had as a child, the faith of a child of God, and a heart of gratitude no matter what is going on around me. This is challening for me, but I am willing to take as many steps of faith that I need to, to repot my life.

Good luck to you, God Bless your endeavors.
