I've been on a kick of reading supernatural young adult novels. What can I say, it's a guilty pleasure! I get so busy volunteering at school that it's nice to have some light reads.

The last grownup book I read was Alex Cross's Trial.

We have a classics book club and a regular book club. I could not find the book for the regular book club Outliers I had the book for the classics club The Bell Jar I just finished it and found it quite depressing and blah. I am now reading Cancer Schmancer by Fran Drescher (the nanny) it is really good. I never knew she had uterine cancer and when she was with her husband there was a break in at her house and her and her friend were raped. I never knew this charismatic, funny women went through all of that. It is a great book for anybody going through cancer, knows someone who has cancer, has survived cancer or who is a fan of Fran Drescher.

That is an excellent book. I found it truthful about his life, yet he did not whine about it and it was sad but had some funny parts at the same time. I found the second book for my mom at Goodwill. I forgot what it is called though.

I just finished the Importance of being Kennedy by Laurie Graham. It's historical fiction written from the point of view of their nanny. It was so good that I just asked DH to stop at the library to pick up a real biography on the Kennedy's to compare!

She is a great author and I've loved her other books The Future Homemakers of America and Gone with the Windsors.

Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. No, I don't like it and didn't when I first read it 20 years ago. But I need to refresh my memory in order to teach it, so I'm slogging through.

I finished Alex Cross's Trial by James Patterson. It was well written but sad and parts were disturbing to me.

I'm starting Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins next. It's the sequal to The Hunger Games.

Finished Catching Fire and I loved it. I would recommend reading Hunger Games first so you understand what is going on. The twist at the end...wow. I can't wait for the 3rd book to come out.

I'm starting the new one by Nicholas Sparks. I think it's called The Last Song.
