I have a goodreads account, but I started keeping track of how many pages I read back in 2004, after realizing how much I'd read that year. So far this year I've read 22,700 pages, up from about 19000 last year.

I have a big Excel sheet that I use to keep track. I have one sheet with all the different authors I like to read. I go through that list every few months on Amazon to see if they have new books coming out, if they do, I put those on a different list so that I can reserve them at the library. Then I have lists for each year of the books that I've read. They are separated out by month, and I can also make notes on them, like what we read for book club & which ones were my favorites.

Yes, I'm a little anal-retentive .

Me neither but it would be amazing to look back on in life. Love the idea.

ITA...it would be a great idea and cool to look back on.

I may start this in 2010. Maybe even make a cute & crafty "Reading Journal" over the holiday break to motivate me and get me started. (I'll post a pic if I follow through on this idea. )

I keep track (started only in 2009) in a journal, I record the title, pages, author and date I completed it, tally it every month by month and total, it is really cool, I wish I would have started sooner.

Keeping track of my books was one of my new year's resolutions, that ... um.. never happened! I read a ton this year, so I really wish I had stuck with that idea... I need to try again!

I started writing down what I read in a notebook because I couldn't all the books I had read. I now use goodreads. It is fun because I can find out what friends are reading and what they think of books.
