I love John Grisham as well..I have read every book he has written. I actually have an autographed copy of his newest one. He lives part-time in Charlottesville, va. where I live (10 minutes away) so I am always on the look-out for a sighting of him!!
ICY SPARKS is an awesome book. Oprah read it and loved it too.

I see that no one mentioned Harry Potter. I loved all 7 books. When my son started to read, i would read with him and I enjoyed the books that he was reading and I started to read some of those books. Try the kids section at the library for chapter books. There are so many series out there that a lot of my friends are reading the same books as their kids. I have to agree- read the "Notebook" it was great.

What ever you choose - have fun and enjoy reading again.

Night by Elie Weisel. I cried so many times it was unreal. cried for what we humans can do to one another in God's name. He is the Holocaust Survivor.

Some really good page turners:

Three, Ted Dekker
All the Harry Potter books
The Circle Trilogy, starting with Black, Ted Dekker
An oldy but goody, This Present Darkness, Frank Peretti
And a good classic, Pride & Prejudice, Jane Austen

Enjoy!

I agree that 'My Sister's Keeper' was a wonderful novel. It inspired me to pick up two new books by Jodi Picoult.

I also loved the book Lovely Bones by Alice Seabold but it can be a hard read for anyone who has children although I think it was tastefully written.

I thought The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards was good but a bit long and I lost interest but did finish it. The story line was good but again, felt like a long read.

I am in the midst of Tara Road right now. Again, it is a long read and was a bit flat in the middle but is now picking up again.

There was a book I read a long time ago called 'She's Come Undone", don't remember who it was by but I really liked it and couldn't put it down.

Hope this helps!

Ciao.
