Book club members or anyone I need a good book to read. I haven't read in a while, or when I do read it is in bits & pieces. Usually at the end of the day when I try to read I am too tired & fall asleep before I can get through a page. Imagine that-being tired after working & taking care of kids, husband, & house.
Does anyone have any suggestions on some good reads? I like John Grisham. I have not read any of Nicholas Sparks books but I saw "The Notebook" and I do not like scary or gory books. Mysteries are good. I like good page turners. Love stories, christian books, anything to get my brain stimulated. I used to read a lot & then I had kids. Now all I read is Goodnight Moon & Fancy Nancy.

If you like tear jerkers, read "My Sister's Keeper". I guarantee that you will cry AND remember the book for a very long time after.

If you are looking for a light read, I like the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. They are mystery/romance but still funny. The first is One for the Money.

For love stories i would recommend LaVyrle Spencer, she's retired from writing now, but i love her books!! My suggestions would be "Years, Morning Glory, The Fullfillment, The Endearment"-these are all historical settings. Her contemporary "Small town girl" was good also.
Nicholas Evans (not to be confused with Nicholas Sparks) writes love stories that have some action/suspense to them."Horse Whisperer, The Loop and The Divide" are worth the read.
Nicholas Sparks " Message in a Bottle" was my favorite of his. Other's will probably suggest " A Walk to Remember" because it has more of a religious tone to it.
" The Secret life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd
One of my favorites, " A Thousand Acres" by Jane Smiley, lots of twists and turns in this book.

Ok, if you like CSI, crime stuff you'll love any books by Kathy Reichs. She is the inspiration for the tv show BONES on FOX. Her books are great, you really can't put them down! Plus if you live in the Carolina's or in Quebec, you'll especially love them since the stories are based in either of those spots. Happy Reading....

If you do I have really enjoyed books by Mary Kay Andrews - Savannah Blues, Hissy Fit and Little Bitty Lies. They are fantastic. They are a light read, nothing serious and very funny. I also just finished reading Goodnight Nobody by Jennifer Weiner. Her other book - Little Earthquakes is really good. Goodnight Nobody is sort of a mystery. I have just started reading Good In Bed by Jennifer Weiner and so far I like it. Last suggestion - "Bitter is the New Black" by Jen Lancaster. I rolled in the floor with this one. It was great. I cannot wait to read the next one that she has written.
Let us know what you decide on and how you like it.
