Has anyone else read Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert? I just finished it and really enjoyed it.

Amazon.com: Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia: Books: Elizabeth Gilbert

I haven't read it and don't have it yet (shocker there!) but I have heard very good things about it. I'll have to get it and pile it up in my huge to be read pile with the other 100 books.

I just used part of my Borders gift card to get it last week, so it is ON MY LIST!

I saw the author on Oprah (my link to the world), and she seemed very down to earth and honest. All of the women in the audience were ga-ga over the book, so I thought I should see what it was all about!

We read it for our book club and I thought it was lame. LOL! I don't understand all the hype about it...but that's pretty typical for me!

Oh so you don't recommend it I assume I have no idea what it's even about, I just know it's a big seller. It seems you & I have pretty similar taste so now I think I might not like it either. What's it about???

Yeah, I think the hype now has the book as being overrated. It's a good read but there's no way it's serious literature.

On a fluke (I rarely actually buy books anymore) I read Eat, Pray, Love before the author was on Oprah, and I loved it. So much so, that I re-read it and underlined things that struck a chord for me (mainly in the third of the book about spirituality). I gave it as Christmas gifts as well. I don't know what people expect of it, but it's a travel journal/personal memoir, imo . . . similar to a diary of sorts.

I really liked it!! I started a thread about it earlier when I had read it. I'll so see if I can find it. (ETA: I just merged the threads)
