Hmmm...a section of the board I have not previously explored! I am currently reading the Lord of the Rings Trilogy in preparation for reading The Children of Hurin. I have read through everything else this summer so fast (22 books since May, including the HP book in 3 days) that I decided I needed something with more meat to it. This one will take me a while!

In the past month I've read the Paula Deen Memoir, Harry Potter 7, The Land of Mango Sunsets by Dorothea Benton Frank, The Laughing Corpse and Micah by Laurell K. Hamilton (she is my favorite). I'm wasting time until the 2 books I've been waiting for come out, 10/23 will be A Lick of Frost by Laurell K. Hamilton and January 2008, Sword Song by Bernard Cornwell (it's the next installment of The Saxon Chronicles and they're wonderful)

I'm gonna look for Montana Sky, that sounds good!

I'm currently reading "Simmer Down" by Jessica Conant-Park. It's a 'fun' summer cooking mystery read. The author is the daughter of a favorite mystery writer of mine, Susan Conant. Her books are dog trainer/breeder related, set in Boston and just fun and easy for summertime.

I have the new Kathy Reichs Book ("Bones to Ashes"). If you like Patricia Cornwell, you'll like Kathy Reichs! I probably like Kathy better than Patricia! Her books are just great and IMO, best read in order.

I also have the new Janet Evanovich Book ("Lean Mean Thirteen") that I can't wait to start!

I just finished "The God of Animals" by Aryn Kyle. This is her debut novel. Not a bad book for a first timer. It's about a 12yr old girl trying to make sense of all the things happening in her life, a classmate mysteriously drowns, her sister runs off with a rodeo cowboy and elopes, her mother is bed-ridden with depression, her father decides to take in borders on their horse ranch to pay the bills and starts to develop too close of a frienship with one of the rich female clients that he's training for horse shows. It's narrated from the eyes of this 12yr old girl.
