Name one book(or more) that has stuck with you and made a lasting impression on you.
It could be fiction, non fiction, romance, biography, memoir, etc.
"My Sergei" By Ekatarina Gordeeva, beautiful memoir of an Olympic ice skating couple, their love story from begining to his sudden death of a heart attack. This one brought me to tears.
"Three Wishes" by Barbara Delinsky, reminds me that life is short, live everyday like it's the last.
"The Glass Castle" by Jeanette Walls, a memoir. It just amazes me how someone can overcome the poverty and dispair of her childhood and become such a success.

We Need To Talk About Kevin

It's about a teen aged boy who massacred a bunch of his classmates at school (Columbine style.) The story is told by the mother via letters she wrote to his dad after the tragedy occurred. She explores her feelings while revisiting the past... it was so hard to put down. I found myself feeling sorry for her and hating her from one page to the next.

I am still haunted by the questions that ran through my mind the entire time I read it..... Did he turn out so bad because she didn't love him - or - Did she not love him because he turned out so bad?

A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer
--> this one brought me to tears; a self told story of child abuse and his quest for triumph; he has other books he wrote after this one.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
--> just fascinated with the whole story; love it.

The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel
--> fascinated with his journey and determination to find evidence against Christ, and then ends up becoming a believer

This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti
--> my first real novel as a tween/teen; it introduced me to the idea of real spiritual warfare. Plus, it is a great read.

Our current book club book: The Girls Who Went Away. It made me finally commit to a possibly life changing decision as many of you know.

Most of what I read is fluff, so not too much is "life changing".

The book I remember the most is The Notebook ~ it's the only book that made me cry.

The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman ~ completely life changing for me. And most recently Codependent No More by Melody Beattie

On a non-fiction note The Horse Whisperer, LOVED that book!! Can't remember the author off the top of my head.

The Horse Whisperer was written by Nicholas Evans (poor guy always gets confused with Nicholas Sparks). I loved that book too. Didn't care for the movie that much, but i sure loved the book!

I also want to add " It Ain't All About the Cooking" by Paula Deen. She's overcome a lot to get where she is now.

anything by Hemingway or Steinbeck

anything by Alice Walker

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold has always
stayed with me, though I hope they don't ruin it
by making a crappy movie out of it. That always
ruins a good book for me.

Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts was given to me by
a dear friend and I still love it.

Jewel by Bret Lott is a sweet book about a woman
who gives birth to a Down Syndrome baby in
1940's Mississippi

Right now I'm reading A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah
It's a memoir by a child soldier from Sierra Leone,
it's very interesting. I hope to see Oprah promote it
and have this young man on her show.

Sorry this post is so long, but I am a voracious reader!
