Are there any good books that take place during the 1940's, 50's, and early 60's? This is my favorite era in the United States and I have a hard time finding books that take place during that time period.
I've got 'The DaVinci Code' sitting in my pile right now and I'd suggest that, but I'm probably the only person in the world who's never read that book.

I think The DaVinci Code would be fun! I've read it before but we recently bought a copy that shows the art that goes along with the story! It would be a fun read for me!
Also how about Cold Mountain. I don't know anything about it, other than they made a movie out of it, but as I already own this book ... I guess everyone is seeing where I'm going with this thought!
