Ever got mad because you didn't like the way an author ended a book.

I was mad at the end of The Cell by Stephen King. Dh laughed at me because I was sitting all quiet on the sofa and then I just kept saying "That's how it ends! I don't believe it. I read this big book and that's how he ended it". I don't think he could have ended it any differently, but I was hoping.

I HATED the way My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult ended. That's one of my things about Jodi Picoult. I LOVE the books, but usually hate the ending. But I still read them because the book (before the ending) is so thought provoking.

On another note...I saw the movie The Cell which I assume was from the book, and I thought it was one of the weirdest movies I'd ever seen.

I've had that happen several times. Don't recall the books, but one was just a couple weeks ago & I sat on the couch saying "That's IT?" I especially hate it when there is a suplot that is just left unfinished.

Nope, I think you saw the movie with Jennifer Lopez...and yes that was odd. The book is about a cell phone pulse that turns people into zombies if they had their phones on when it happened. Then you follow a father and son as they try to survive.

Kent Haruf who wrote " Plain Song" and it's sequel " Eventide", love his writing but hate how he leaves you wondering at the end!
"Bastard out of Carolina" (sorry forgot the author), made me so angry at the end. If i could have reached into the book and strangled the mother character i would have. Made me so angry for the child! Though the woman who wrote the book did a great job of really making you "feel" the story. I just hated the ending!

I have had that happen a few times, but I can't remember the books. I remember being mad though.

I've had it happen a couple times. The one that sticks out the most is actually Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. I thought it was awful that Jo didn't get "the guy" (her best friend - the one that ended up with her sister) in the end. I was just as upset when I saw the movie. It was awful because I loved the book up until that point!!

I don't recall being mad at an ending, but I have been disappointed by a few book endings.

I hate when that happens! I get so frustrated that I hope they write a sequel! I agree on the Jodi Piccoult books. She does end them in weird ways
