We'll be restarting the book club now that everyone has hopefully settled down from the Christmas holidays. We're going to try something a little different where members can volunteer to "host" a month. During your month you could just pick a book, or you could list a few books for people to choose from. Then after people have had a few wks to obtain and read the book, the "host" member would post some discussion questions. Many books include discussion questions at the end of the book nowadays, or sometimes you can find them online. If you have any problems there are several mods and members that can help you out. So be brave!! Sign up to host a month. I'll take the first month just to get us started and will post my books for you to choose from tomorrow. But we'd like to see more members involved. For now, I'd like to see members sign up for which months you'd like to host. Thanks! And happy reading!

If you're serious then just copy and paste the list and add your name. I might not be reading it (depending on what it is), but I'm sure there's some other "greenies" on here who would. That's the good thing about hosting a month. YOU get to decide!!

Aliadam, my "real life" discussion is Wed night for A Thousand Splendid Suns. IF we pick Water for Elephants for our next book, I will do Feb. and that would be the book I would pick for here too (without a list). Sound good?? or has everyone already read that book?

ETA: apparently I can't read, you are starting in FEB. Ok, I will do March then....but I will just pick a book when it is my turn, and not post a list, is that ok??

Stacey I was planning to let people vote on "aliadam's favorite books of 2007" and both of those books (as you well know ) are on my list. If you want I can just save Water for Elephants and not list it as an option, and let you do it. DO you want me to do that? If so just go ahead and sign up and you could even put it as the book now. You know that I'll join in!!!

I would take a month if you ladies are OK with my choice of books. I tend to like non-fiction, especially books that could possibly fit into some stages of the FTJ project. I have a few in mind already.

I'd like to join, also. You could just toss me in any old month. I'm good with whatever. Thanks!

Ok I am definately doing Water for Elephants for my "real life" book club. So if you want to discuss that book in March for here...put me down. But that means there is no vote for March. So it is up to you. I have plenty on my TBR list.
