Would you recommend this book to others? Why or why not?

Yes, it's a very good book. It shows the struggle that women in that area have had to go through and makes us appreciate how good we've got it.

Not only WOULD I, but I have!!! I've raved about this book here on mommysavers since I first read it last summer I believe. It was a "hard" book to read given the subject matter, but it made me really appreciate how good we have it in the United States. I'm very sad that there are still so many countries where women are treated like property, or worse.

But even though the subject matter was difficult, I couldn't put it down. And the strength of the human spirit made it more than just a depressing book. I'd like to encourage everyone to read this book. I think it's GREAT!!!

YES YES YES. Knowing this book is fiction wasn't enough, because YOU know this happens. I think of this book almost every day. It changed something inside of me. I feel so fortunate to be free.

YES! I already have. I am just sorry I did not listen to aliadam and read it earlier. I have already put a request in for "The Kite Runner", too. Is it just as good?

The funny thing is, I have the Kite Runner, but even though it was published before ATSS, I haven't read Kite Runner yet. I think most people liked it even better, so some day I need to dig it out of my dozen boxes of books to read.
