I had two books that I remember the most--The Monster at the End of this Book and Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel.

Mike Mulligan--my class would choose this book every week for our teacher to read to us until she finally said we could only get it once a month, lol.

I too liked "The monster at the end of this book", My favoirite book was a book called " Plump Pig". I remember that it had the nicest pictures. I believe it is in my grandmas brick fireplace as one of us grandkids filed it there through a vent

When I first learned to read it was The Pokey Little Puppy. As I got a little older, it was Pippi Longstocking.

Let's see -- Superfudge, Where the Red Fern Grows, Lord of the Rings (all of them including The Hobbit), and Little House on the Prairie.

When I was a tween, I loved Island of the Blue Dolphins, The Secret Garden and The Little Princess. Also anything by Judy Blume, of course.

Before I could read, I remember this was one of my favorite books (they just reprinted it, thankfully, because if has been selling on e-bay for $150 which was too much for my blood - don't know what happened to my copy):

Amazon.com: The Fourteen Bears in Summer and Winter (Deluxe Golden Book): Evelyn Scott: Books
