This is the year that I am going to actually get up and make breakfast everyday for our boys before shipping them off to school. Our twins have a metabolism that is faster than the speed of light and a bowl of cereal is not going to cut it anymore. Plus, it was my mommy dream to make breakfast every morning.

So I need 5 days worth of fabulous, easy recipes to make before school (no baking for 45 minutes - that is for the weekends and I have plenty of those). HEELLPPP!!!

Oatmeal(kids usually like it and you can do 100 diff things w/it)...also cream of wheat or Cocoa Wheats(I have called cream of Wheat "Vanilla Cocoa Wheats" made it sound more "kid friendly" )

do your kids like scrambled egg sandwiches???

bagels n cream cheese

as simple as it sounds our family has a history of kids liking cinn/sugar toast w/hot cocoa.

kids always like l/o pizza

french toast etc(you can whip up the batter or egg mix the night before)

waffles and sausage

grilled pb&j and milk even works.

Lots of these things too like pancakes & such you can make in bulk and freeze and then just zap and serve for those rushed mornings.

You could make a breakfast casserole on Sunday and then have leftovers for a couple mornings.

I make my boys english muffin sandwiches with egg, turkey bacon or sausage and cheese.

They also like toast with a little peanut butter and banana.

Grilled cheese is a favorite around here. My kids also like grits and oatmeal when it's cold.

Just yesterday, I made a list on 10 different options for the kids to choose from. I know some of these are repeated, but I will list them anyway...

Scrambled eggs w/ toast and juice or milk

Fried eggs w/ toast and juice or milk

Waffles w/ fruit and milk or juice

Breakfast sandwich ( popped fried or scrambled eggs, english muffin, cheese) w/ milk or juice

Pancakes w/ sausages and milk or juice

Oatmeal with add-ins, toast and milk or juice

cream of wheat with toast, milk or juice

coco wheat with toast and milk or juice

french toast with sausages and milk or juice

toast with peanut butter, yogurt, fruit, milk or juice

With most of these dishes, I offer fruit. I think the key thing is to make sure the kids get their protein they need. It seems to stay with them longer and helps them get through th emorning. I dont offer cold cereal since it does not last longer than a couple hrs...
