Overnight Caramel French Toast

1 c brown sugar
1/3 c butter
2 Tbs light corn syrup
1 c chopped pecans, divided (or even walnuts)
12 1 in thick slices french bread
5 eggs
1 c milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp nutmeg
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
Caramel Sauce
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c butter
1 Tbs light corn syrup
In saucepan, combine 1 c br sugar,1/3 c butter and 2 Tbs corn syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Pour sauce into a 9x13 pan and sprinkle with nuts. Place bread on top of the sauce
Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.Pour egg mixture evenly over bread slices, cover the baking dish, and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
The next morning, preheat oven to 350
Remove the French toast from the refrigerator 30 min before.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes, until lightly brown.
Drizzle sauce over the toast right before serving.
Caramel Sauce:
Mix 1/2 c brown sugar, 1/4 c butter and 1 Tbs corn syrup. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
Flip bread bottom side up...drizzle....voila.....:happy dance:
