Anyone eat or let their kids eat out of the ordinary things for breakfast?? Reason I ask is that my 5 yr old wanted a pizza hot pocket for breakfast. After aruging/suggesting something else for 20 minutes, I just let him have it. So he ate a pepporoni pizza hot pocket, 1/2 a banana and milk for breakfast. I was mad at first, but than I got to thinking. It was actually healthy; cheese, marinara sauce, crust, meat. So do you let your kids ate anything like that sometimes??

I'm not to picky about my kids eating "breakfast foods". Actually, we eat just about anything for breakfast here. Leftovers, ramen, sandwiches. As long as it's not a handful of candy or chips, food is food no matter what time of day we eat it!

If 'typical breakfast' means cereal or poptart type stuff,, what he had was MUCH healthier. I always tried very hard to get a protein in each of my children for breakfast when they were younger.. Now, my big girls don't eat breakfast and my little one is a verrrrrrrrrrrry light eater until later... so getting a cup of milk in her first thing is doin' all right.

I do not give my kids things like pop tarts for breakfast. They are lucky to get those for a snack. Quick run down of what my kids eat for breakfasts

Eggs-fried, scrambled plain, with cheese, with cut up lunchmeat
homemade oatmeal pancakes
whole wheat waffles
homemade breakfast burritos-scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, cheese, sausage/bacon
breakfast hot pockets-eggs, cheese, bacon/ham/sausage
Recently got a sandwich maker, so I will be using that to make homemade hot pockets
oatmeal
non sugar cereals

Very often their breakfast also contains fruit and/or toast. They always have milk in the morning.

My 7 yr old almost never wants "breakfast" type foods. The other day he ate left over sweet and sour chicken. He frequently asks for corn dogs or leftover pizza. I don't care what they eat, as long as they eat.

I have let my kids have leftovers for breakfast but usually on a daily basis we have the normal breakfast, sometimes eggs, cereal, bananas, apples, or yogurt. It won't hurt them to have something other than breakfast food once in awhile adds a little spice to their routine and yours

It's kinda funny to me how many people here do "breakfast for dinner" and yet dinner for breakfast seems wrong to some........weird

Historically, in many countries, breakfast was simply the dinner leftovers (made into a sandwich, for instance). My massage therapist (holistic dude - very into health/nutrition) also suggests fish sticks. Good high quality ones - not the awful little breaded ones. My husband loves having fish sticks for breakfast. I personally love a sandwich.

DD often asks for Spaghetti-O's for breakfast. This morning she ate a carrot. Heck, it is so hard to get her to eat something that will stick with her until lunch, I'm willing to go along.
