My kids like oatmeal in the morning, but it seems a little boring to me. Usually I make it with honey and cinnamon. What sorts of things do y'all add to oatmeal?

I cheat. I buy a huge box of the Quaker Oatmeal (microwavable kind) from Sam's. It is all flavored-cinnamon roll, apples and cinnamon, banana bread, etc. But you do get some plain packets. I never know what to do with those. Sometimes I split one plain between the kids older kids to add to whatever flavor they are having.
When I was a kid, I liked oatmeal (NOT microwavable, the kind you cook on the stove) and all we ever added to ours was sugar, butter and milk. MMMMMMMMM
I would think that you could add in honey, jelly, peanut butter. Cant think of anything else.

I like it with honey and ground pecans. It gives it a nice texture.

Any fresh fruit I have on hand, apples, peaches, ect. I always add ground flax seeds and cinnamon. It's yummy w/ maple syrup or with brown sugar. I love rasins, granola or nuts on top.

My daughter had the Quaker instant with a crunchy topping package at her grandmothers and LOVED it, problem is, instant oatmeal is already expensive and that stuff only comes 6 packs to a box!

Fast forward to me getting several boxes of Kashi Go Lean Crunch for .50¢ each, only to find no one really likes it as cereal. Tossed some on my daughters oatmeal one morning, and we had a hit! She eats it on yogurt as well.

vanilla
cinammon
brown sugar
applesauce

They have oatmeal that has dinosaur eggs in it. When the eggs get wet in the milk, they "hatch" into baby dinosaurs. DS loves it, so to save $, I sometimes get dinosaur sprinkles - the kind you put on cupcakes in the little bottles, and put them in. No difference to him!
