a pound of bacon(cut however ya like it)

Preheat oven to 350.

Line rimmed baking sheet w/parchment paper.
Layer bacon in a single layer.
Bake 10 to 15 min.
Remove to drain on a plate w/paper towels.

Great for a crowd and no more splatter all over the ENTIRE stove

we bake it on broiler pan so most of the fat drips off and there's less to drain after it's done. It definitely comes out less greasy. Just make sure you get it before it dries out, it can happen in the oven.

We have been cooking bacon in the oven for a while now. We saw several chefs on the food network doing it so we tried it. We do it at 400° for about 20 minutes. We can't taste any difference. The only thing we have noticed is our house does not smell like cooked bacon for days when we do it in the oven!

I love cooking my bacon this way, before I learned of doing it this way, I tried to either buy the already cooked bacon, which can be costly & does not taste as well as regular fried bacon or we just went without as my stove top is black & it takes some time to get all the grease off, plus the smell could be overwhelming!!

I have never heard of this before, but I tried it tonight and wow. The mess was less and it was less time consuming.
My dh krinkled his nose when he found out what I was doing. But after dinner he said "Well I guess those mommies know how to cook bacon!"

Thanks alot!!!

it is also great in the micro - just place between shhets of paper towels and it comes out just as crispy as by frying it!!

We always do it in the oven. It's really great if you're making pancakes or eggs or something that is taking up your stovetop, you don't have to have another pan taking up room for the bacon.
