it sounds yummy, i am going to try it.
but what type of alfredo sauce should i buy? does ragu or prego make this, i've never seen it??
also, sorry to be a real PITA, but how should i cook the chicken? do i bake it or pan fry it? i guess i can just purchase chicken breasts that are already halved and boneless and just cut those into cubes.
i'm not a cook at all, and i can't afford to waste good food experimenting LMAO, so i need step by step instructions for the cooking impaired!

I seasoned my chix breast and boiled them for about 15-20 minutes while pasta was cooking then cut them into chunks
I made half the recipe and sprinkled some Parmesan on top. Served with crusty bread. Yummy!

I make my own alfredo sauce.
In a pan, melt one stick butter, pour in 1 cup (little carton) heavy whipping cream. Add one cup grated parmesan (real parmesan - not the Kraft stuff in the can). Cook & stir until warm & the cheese is melted.
You can use half and half or even milk instead of heavy whipping cream, if you want it lighter. If you do that, I recommend you put some flour into the melting butter, and stir it until it's thickened into a roux before you add the milk. Otherwise it will not get thick.
I pour this sauce over 1 lb of boiled noodles.
You can leave it just like that, or you can add steamed broccoli, snow peas, peppers, sauteed garlic, etc. You can also add cooked chicken or salmon. To the person who wasn't sure how to cook the chicken for this - I get boneless/skinless breasts and either dice them & then saute them in some oil on the stovetop, or I leave the breast whole & put it in a pan with about an inch of water & poach them, turning them, until cooked. Then slice the chicken & put on the pasta.
