This was actually Amy's idea... but she asked me to post it.. I think it sounds like a GREAT challenge! Its in the April issue of Creating Keepsakes on page 81 if you have it!
The article says "Scrapbook 100 pages tonight!" But Im thinking more like a week. LOL Us moms gots things we gots to DO! LOL Ive giving you heads up now... so that you can get those pictures ordered and get prepared! We'll start this soon AFTER the next 1 in 48 is over.. so in May! (I'll keep you updated on when the dates become exact!)
Here's what the challenge is about. Mainly, the goal is to complete a mini album. So, you want to use pictures that are all related (example: baby's 1st year, wedding, birthday, a year in review, holidays, etc)
The 3 Block Approach: (layout)
The strategy...
1. select around 10 photos that high-light your set time period then combine them on the right hand page of the layout spread. Its okay to crop out backgrounds that dont tell the story, which means your photos will cary in size. Simplify the process by cropping each photo to a similar height so that you can maintain a border.
2. Select a main photo for each left hand page and align it near one of the sides of the layout, leaving room for a border that matches the right hand page.
3. Use coordinating cardstock and one accent. (Just suggestions)
The Rotated Sketch Approach:
The Strategy..
1. Rotate one or both pages of the sketch to create a different configuration.
The 4x4 Block Approach:
The Strategy...
1. Crop 4"x6" photos into 4" squares. Check out the examples in the magazine!!
What do yall think????
