Perhaps I'm just completely disorganized when it comes to this task, but every day I'm doing something with the laundry. It always seems like I'm sorting it, washing it, drying it, ironing it (only the good stuff that we actually wear outside of the house - LOL), folding it, putting it away, only to do it all over again! It's the endless task. We have a divided laundry sorter bin, but I still have to rummage through the thing to pull out stuff that has to be washed in warm water, stuff that has to be washed in the gentle cycle, etc. I'm sure it seems harder during fall and winter because cold-weather clothes are longer and bulkier vs. the shorts and t-shirts of summertime. There's only 3 of us in our family; I can't imagine how those of you with larger families handle it all!

Am I the only one who feels this way?

We are a family of 3. I do laundry once a week. Since I live in an apt complex, I roll my stuff to the laundry room, I take up 3 - 4 washers at a time and I am done with all the laundry, including drying and putting away in about 2 hrs. So its not that bad for me.
I do wish I had the machines in my unit though, but being able to use that many machines at once is a time saver.

I actually love doing laundry...up until the part wher eyou have to put it away. LOL That part stacks up on me sometimes. I try to be good and put it all away as soon as it comes out of the dryer, but sometimes I just get behind.

I try to do laundry every day, if I let it go a few days, it seems that it really piles up and I feel like it's neverending!

I like to do mine all at once. Since I work, I try to do it all on Friday evening or Saturday morning. I'd go crazy if I did it all week long! I like to do all at once and get it over with. The only time it's a problem is when we will be gone on the weekends or have just extra hectic weekends once in a while.

I absolutely hate laundry! It seems that I am the only one that does it and I am doing it every single day. I feel like I am never going to get caught up. I always find that when I finally get throught washing, drying, folding and putting away then there are another 3/4 loads waiting for me!

We call it "Mt. Never Rest" around here. I can never get caught up on laundry. It piles up in our hallway and drives me absolutely insane! I just bought a hamper for each member of our family and I'm training them to only put their clothes in it. Then I will try to do each family members clothes one day a week. Mom on Monday, Dad on Tuesday, you get the picture. This is my latest attempt to tame "Mt. Never Rest"!

I'll let you know how it goes

I have never had a problem with laundry! here are the rules we go by and we have 6 people in our house

1. buy enough clothes for one week, underwear, socks, t-shirts, shirts, pants ect
2. Each person has one towel to use for the week, they hang it to dry after each use. we dont bathe every day, kids every other day.
3. for got to add, wear items more than once before throing into the laundry, if ds is wearing a t-shirt and then a sweatshirt on top to school, dont need to wash the sweatshirt everytime he wears it, unless dirty (sweat, paint ect) fold it for at least two more wears, same with jeans, work clothes ect.
I do laundry on saturday morning, I have a king size machine and usually two loads. I know what items run, so I mix whites and colors.
I iron all the clothes on saturday afternoon, fold most striaght out of the dryer, underwear, t-shirts under clothes, sweats ect. Then make dh watch the kids, put my netflix movie on in the bedroom and watch the movie and iron!

If I waited and did laundry for six people one day of the week, I'd have to plan on NO sleep for that alotted 24 hours. I hate laundry as well. No matter how hard I try, it never gets caught up and it gets somewhat overwhelming at times.

Starlite...you're the good wife/mom...I don't iron!! If it's something that ABSOLUTELY has to be ironed, they rarely wear it because I rarely iron it. I have a friend who irons EVERYTHING she washes including her dh's and ds's hunting clothes. Umm...I somehow don't think the wildlife will care if they're wrinkled or not!

BRAT!!! I'm so jealous!

I feel the same, only I don't get it all put away before the next 2 loads are dried and folded and I need the darn basket! We have 4 people and 4 baskets. We live out of the baskets. I can not get dh to wear something more than once, although I do grab his jeans if I catch him putting them in wash and pretend they are clean!
