My 10 month old is 20 lbs and like 29 or 30inches (I think). I need a new carseat for her. What I always hated was when they'd fall asleep and their head fall forward. Anyone have a good recommendation? I glanced through and saw one called safety first and it reclined.

the only one I can suggest is a Britax Marathon .. that is what we have and I LOVE IT.. so does my dd... she was over 20 lbs at 9 months so we had to get something that was going to last and rear facing. It goes from 5-60 lbs. and faces rear it aslo reclines... I love it and also we travel a lot via plane and bought an attachment to make it in to a stroller... :D I know it is expensive but since my dd was only 8 months at christmas and wouldn't remeber what she got we just asked everyone to help us out with getting it.

I second that, debellafunk. My 5 1/2 yo dd is still in hers (she's 47lbs) and she loves it. You also can't beat the safety ratings for Britax.

You need to get a rear facing convertible carseat. The Britax Marathon is good, but it's pricey and there are other options out there if you don't have the $$ and/or your vehicle is too small. Some of the other seats we've looked at are the Evenflo Titan, Evenflo Triumph, Radian Sunshine Kids (this goes up to 60 or 65 lbs) and another seat that I can't remember the name of . The safest seat is one that fits in and is installed correctly into your car. We were hit earlier this year by a drunk driver going 90 mph and even though we didn't have the most expensive or *safest* seats for our kids, because they were used correctly no one was injured (besides the van )

I would also recommend a Britax, we have 2 for our kids and love them!! Yes they are pricey, but are safe and comfortable!!!

There is also another one beside Britax....Called Radian. There are two models (same as Britax)..one to 65 pounds and 49 inches, one to 80 pounds and 54 inches. We JUST purchased this brand over the weekend. Partly, our decision was based on price (it runs about $50 cheaper), but also because it is a slimmer model. I can literally fit three across my van, whereas the Britax are too wide to do that. The safety rates on both are the same...the BEST on the market. HTH. I know it is an expensive investment, but as a friend recently pointed out to me...compare it to the cost of ONE flower arrangement for a funeral for a child not buckled correctly in a carseat. Crude, but absolutely the truth.

Yes we were! Honestly the accident should have been much, much worse. Especially since the moron was riding around with his 2 year old unrestrained in the jeep. The whole left side/back of our van was smashed in and the frame was bent. He hit us pretty much where our oldest and youngest sit and then with my pregnancy it made for a very interesting evening (it was 6 pm on a Monday night). We bought brand new car seats for everyone the following day. Hopefully no one here will ever have to go through that, it's something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

I have the Evenflo Triumph 5 for both my boys and I am pretty happy with it. Consumer Reports usually rates it well and it's not quite as expensive as some of the other car seats that have been mentioned (it runs about $119 at most places I think). It's also fairly easy to adjust. You can recline it in the rear facing position but I think that it needs to be almost completely upright when you switch it around. It does only go to 40 pounds and 40 inches though.

How was his 2 year old?

I agree w/going Britax. I've got the Marathon and it'll last us for awhile. We have had a Britax for ds who is now 6, so we've gotten over the max, 6 yrs out of it. I would do it again.
