My hubby will be turning 30 on the 27th this month. I don't want to spend to much money, but want to do something special for him! He's been working so hard lately and show him that we (me and the girls) appreciate him and love him (also a little poke from me about him turning 30!) and was thinking about having a small party for him on his B-day. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas about what I can do? I would probably do this on his actual Birthday (on a Monday) so he has no idea about what's going on!

what about having family & his closest friends over for appetizers & drinks or cake and coffee and surprise him. Have a family member or freind get him out for a bit (maybe they need him to stop by on the way home from work to HELP with something - wink wink) so you can get everyone over to your house before he gets there. Just an idea.

For my dh's 30th, I had a private room reserved at a restuarant and had 20 people there for dinner. I had been saving so I paid for everyone. I had appetizers set out & I had pre-selected menu item's with 5 choices they could choose from. I had our family and his closest friends there. It was a HUGE success. He never suspected a thing. We usually go to dinner w/ his family for one of our b-day's and so we just said we were going there. They lead us to the back (looked like we were going to a back table) and then we walked into a room where everyone was. He still says that was his best B-day ever!!! (it was only 4 years ago but we've been together for 12)

I took my dh out for dinner and booked a hotel room for the night.
