HE DID IT AGAIN.
Elijah's watching a movie. I've been checking on him and he's doing fine. I go into the bathroom, go pee and start to switch the laundry over. . 2 or 3 minutes.. I come out to see the desk destroyed. He's shaken his whole sippy of grape juice all over the desk, throughout the keyboard (thank goodness it still works, considering it's a $100 keyboard), totally saturating Nate's paperwork for his allergist appointment tomorrow. Oh, but that's not the worst of it.. He....again.....busted the arm off my glasses. AGAIN. I was so angry I spanked him and put him in his crib. I had to avoid being around him because I was so infuriated that I couldn't stand it. The chair was tipped upside down.. my glasses were on TOP of the highest part of the desk (which is eye level when I'm standing). He flipped the chair so he could climb up the back of it, then climbed ON TOP of the desk, on top of everything and got my glasses. I'm NOT JOKING. You think this is impossible. It's not. He just snapped another pair of $150 glasses. And I don't think the warranty works for another pair. I am beyond infuriated. And I'm even more upset because I know that it's likely DH won't offer a lick of sympathy. When I was getting them replaced he said (not too nicely, may I add), "you probably should have gotten something that BENDS" and giving me a look. Too late. I had picked out the plastic ones.. and that was that. I couldn't get anything else with the exchange warranty. And now he busted them - AGAIN. I can't even.. I'm just.. I'm speechless. Out the window goes my plans for a romantic night with Nate. I'm sitting here crying as I type this.. upset that I made the stupid mistake of buying something nice that I really wanted while I have a toddler. I know it's just as much my fault as his, because I didn't put them away somewhere that he couldn't reach them.. well I mean I didn't put them at the top of the laundry closet, which is about the only place he couldn't scale right now. He got into my purse already.. they aren't safe there. It's my fault, yes. But I have been so stressed with him scaling everything and destroying everything and refusing to listen to me.. It's wearing me out and this was the last straw before the tears came pouring out. He didn't even scream when I put him in his crib after.. he knew he was wrong. I went in there and he gave me a huge hug and kiss. He's sorry. But I'm still upset.

Gosh, I have a feeling that I am not to far behind ya. I have a 15 month old and gosh, she is almost on the couch. Already on top of the train table, fireplace , and anything else low enough for her to scale. It is just a matter of time...

Wow, my sympathy to you. I hope that this isn't what I'm in for. Ian's 10 months old, and he was climbing up and standing on top of Quentin's desk before he could even walk (which he started at 9 months).

I feel your pain. I feel like NOTHING is mine around here. My two year old gets into EVERYTHING...My makeup is hers, my perfume is hers, my nail polish is hers, my pens and pencils in their holder on the desk are hers, my scissors are hers .... etc. Some days I want to buy a locking metal cabinet and lock everything that is MINE in there. It's so frustrating.

Tell me about it! Leah gets into EVERYTHING! She's broken my glasses already too. Came in while I was in the shower, picked my glasses up off the counter, and snapped em right down the nose piece! I just stared at the 2 pieces, saying "Oh no Leah, oh no. No no no, Leah." She gives me a very remorseful look and says, "I'm so sorry mommy. So sorry." (She's almost 3 now.) Thank goodness Lily (her twin) isn't quite as mobile because I have a feeling she'll be just as bad! They're already partners in crime!! Oh, and instead of getting mine replaced, I found an old, ugly pair of glasses that I've been using. Thank goodness I wear contact most of the day!
